Sports Roundup: Lady Pats defeat Jefferson County

Kenzie Henderson scored 18 points and had 14 rebounds, and Aariana Bell had 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Oglethorpe County girls to a 51-38 victory over Jefferson County on Tuesday night.   The Lady Patriots improved to 13-5 and 6-2 in Region 4-AA.

Q&A: Bryan Park builds community, memories for local family

Repeat on their minds: Wrestling team can make school history with consecutive state titles

The Oglethorpe County wrestling team has been counting down the days until Jan. 22. That’s when the Patriots will defend their Class AA state championship.   They are the No. 1 seed for the team dual championship bracket on Saturday at Bremen High School.

Wrestling to host sectional duals; tickets on GoFan app

  Oglethorpe County defeated Elbert County 78-6 to win the Area 5-AA Dual Championship at Independence Hall on Saturday.   The Patriots, the defending state champions, defeated Westside 72-12 and Elbert County knocked off Glenn Hills 60-24 in the semifinals to advance to the final.

Spring teams near start of new seasons

  With the new year, comes a new spring sports season at Oglethorpe County High School. Athletes and coaches are ready to face the challenges coming in the next few months, whether it is aiming for redemption in the playoffs or repeat championship titles.

Henderson puts up lofty numbers as a freshman

A few months ago, freshman Kenzie Henderson said her biggest goal for the basketball season was to dunk. However, her sights have shifted away from how she scores, to just scoring in general.
