Kenzie and Sydnie Henderson are twin sisters who don’t resemble each other. Their drive for athletic excellence, however, is identical.

Volleyball defeats Greene

Kenzie Henderson had 10 kills and Madi Kelley added nine kills to lead the Oglethorpe County volleyball team to a 25-6, 25-10, 25-15 victory over Greene County in Lexington on Sept. 7.  Sofia Horsley, Elizabeth Cook and Madi Kelley led the Patriots in aces in the match.

Runners shine at Clarke meet

Several personal records were established as the Oglethorpe County cross country teams finished fourth (girls) and fifth (boys) at Gladiator Invitational at Piedmont Preserve on Saturday.

Lengthy road trip to help Patriots prepare for state

Oglethorpe County volleyball coach Brianne Harrison isn’t focusing on the travel in the midst of a five-match road trip.    “I’m honestly just worried about state,” Harrison said. “My goal is to be undefeated in the area.

Horsley, Cook lead volleyball team

Setter Sofia Horsley had 10 kills and Elizabeth Cook finished with five kills and eight aces to lead the Oglethorpe County volleyball team to a 25-22, 25-15 and 25-19 victory over Lake Oconee Academy on Tuesday.

Girls cross country finishes 10th at meet

Sydnie Henderson finished eighth with a time of 21:41 at the Flying Biscuit Cafe High School Invitational at North Oconee on Aug. 31.  The Oglethorpe County girls finished 10th out of 23 teams and the boys were 19th out of 25 teams.

Jones wants to leave program in ‘positive state’

Patriots focus on toughness after loss to Banks County

Oglethorpe County has focused on toughness during the bye week after falling to Banks County 19-14 in the home opener on Friday.   “Our five team pillars that we like to talk about are: commitment, toughness, discipline, effort and pride,” Holland said.

No rest for runners in Labor Day 5K

This will be the 19th Restoration Labor Day 5K, but it will look different this year as there will only be a 5K option for Firefly Trail race series participants.
