The Rev. Jimmy Crumbley, 83, of Comer, died July 15. The funeral service was Saturday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at Holly Creek Baptist Church, with Pastor David Bell, eulogist. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Lois Eliza Gilbride, 80, passed away on July 8, 2023. She was born on Aug. 11, 1942 in Delaware, Ohio, to the late Paul Oller and Elizabeth Freshwater.   She was a loving wife to the late Ronald Gilbride for 45 years.

Mr. James Howard Brown, 80, of Bowersville, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023 at his home.   Born on Feb. 22, 1943 in Bowersville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Browning J. Brown and Doris Imogene Ussery Brown.

Obituary: Earl Lashley

Earl Lashley, age 81 of Monroe, passed away on July 3, 2023. He was born in Edmondson, Kentucky, on Jan. 14, 1942, to the late Sylva McGrew Lashley and the late Miles Mitchell Lashley.    He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Lashley.

Martha Edna Bullock, 99, of Crawford, passed July 7, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Edgar Floyd & Ita Price Morgan; also preceded in death by a husband, James Loden Bullock.

Luther Rick Smith, 68, of Athens died June 21, 2023.    The funeral service was Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Stephens, with Pastor William Bland, eulogist and minister Jyrekis Collins, presiding. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Obituary: Jean Smith Moore

Jean Smith Moore, age 87, died as peacefully as she lived July 2, 2023 in Quiet Oaks Nursing home.    She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.   Jean was born on Aug. 9, 1935 in Stephens, to George Grattan and May Belle Smith. She was the youngest of six children.
