Prep Roundup: Volleyball team captures 8-A title

The Oglethorpe County volleyball team defeated top-seeded Providence Christian 25-19, 25-18 and 25-14 to clinch the Area 8-A championship on Saturday. The Patriots (27-8, 8-2) have won 15 consecutive matches and advance to the first round of the Class A tournament on Oct. 15.

OCMS football team wins league crown

After an undefeated season ended in uncertainty last year, Oglethorpe County Middle School finished the job this fall. The football team claimed the PAC-11 league championship with a 12-6 win over Social Circle last Wednesday.

OCHS softball nears playoffs The regular season is winding down for the Oglethorpe County softball team. The Patriots dropped a 13-3 decision to Elbert County on Tuesday to fall to 12-7 and 8-2 in Region 8-A Division I.

Eidson sparks softball to win over Commerce

Khloe Eidson went 4-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBIs to lead the Oglethorpe County softball team to a 10-2 win over Commerce in a game called after five innings on Tuesday night.

OCHS volleyball hits prime in time for stretch run

The Oglethorpe volleyball team has rattled off seven consecutive wins, hoping to ride that wave through the end of the season to a potential third straight Class A playoff berth.“I really want to win the rest of our area games, because that’s what we have left,” head coach Brianne Harrison said.
