Eric S. Hall, 43, of Lexington died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024.   A funeral service was held at noon Saturday, Oct. 19 at Jones Funeral Chapel, with Bruce Williams, chairman and Tim Williams, speaker.

Obituary: Laura Kristan Davis

Laura Kristan Davis, 52, of Crawford, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Friday, Oct. 18, following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Wayne Davis and Kay Bridges Nicklow. Kristan was born in Athens and was a lifelong resident of Oglethorpe County.

Obituary: George Sewell Chatham

George Sewell Chatham, a lifelong resident of Hartwell, entered into rest peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, at Glen Eagle Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Abbeville, Georgia, where he had been lovingly cared for during the last four years. He was 79.

 Tina S. Sanders, 49, passed away Oct. 7, 2024. She was born Oct. 28, 1974 in Athens.  Tina was a homemaker and a resident of this area all her life. She was a cherished wife, mother and Nana to her grandboys. She graduated from Washington-Wilkes High School in 1993.

Obituary: Mark William Matthews

 Mark William Matthews, 62, of Comer, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024. Born on March 20, 1962 in Greenville, South Carolina, he was preceded in death by his parents I. V Matthews and Mary Johnson Matthews. Mark worked for many years as a long-haul truck driver.

Obituary: Justin Barnett

 It is with heavy hearts that our family shares that Justin Barnett of Athens passed away on Oct. 9, 2024.  Justin was such a loyal and loving son, stepson, kitty daddy to Blue, brother and friend. His sweet mannerisms and loving heart will surely be missed.
