Martha Steele Woods, 95, of Lexington, died Sept. 13, 2024.  She was the daughter of the late Alvin Ed and Eula Mae Steele, and also preceded by her husband Wallace Edward Woods.

Obituary: John Mell Howard

John M. Howard, 72, of Lithonia, died Sept. 5, 2024.  The funeral service was held at noon Sept. 14 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Stephens, with the Rev. Dr. John H. Smith, eulogist, and Bishop Calvin Turner, pastor. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Obituary: Robin Lee Bryant

Robin Lee Bryant, 60, of Carlton, died Sept. 2, 2024.  Robbie was born in Athens on April 6, 1964 to Mildred Christine Bryant. Robbie was preceded in death by his grandmother Lorena B. Damron, mother Mildred Christine Bryant, brother Ronold Lewis Bryant and sister Anita Karen Bryant.

Obituary: Edwin Rice (Buddy) Hart Jr.

Edwin Rice Hart Jr., 86, died peacefully Sept. 8, 2024, at his home in Colbert. Known as Buddy, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Buddy was born Oct.

Brently Allen Tucker, born on May 5, 1989, in Athens, passed away at the age of 35 on Aug. 29, 2024, in Athens.  He was a resident of Oglethorpe County and attended the Oglethorpe County School System.

Obituary: Willie Melton Moses

Mr. Willie Melton Moses, affectionately called “Mohawk”, was born Jan. 26. 1956 in Stephens to the late Willie W. Gresham and Ms. Marietta Moses. He peacefully transitioned on Aug. 25 at the age of 68. He was educated in the Oglethorpe County School System, where he graduated in 1974.

Mary L. Huff, of Athens, died Aug. 22, 2024. The funeral service was at noon Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024 at Fork Bethel Baptist Church with Bishop Bobby Bloodsaw, eulogist and Elder Lindsey Gatlin, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Katie Sue Fauber, 84, of Comer, passed away on Aug. 26, 2024. Born on Nov. 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John “Sam” Colquitt and Nettie Inez Graham Colquitt. Sue was a longtime member of Colliers Batist Church in Comer.
