Brently Allen Tucker, born on May 5, 1989, in Athens, passed away at the age of 35 on Aug. 29, 2024, in Athens.  He was a resident of Oglethorpe County and attended the Oglethorpe County School System.

Obituary: Willie Melton Moses

Mr. Willie Melton Moses, affectionately called “Mohawk”, was born Jan. 26. 1956 in Stephens to the late Willie W. Gresham and Ms. Marietta Moses. He peacefully transitioned on Aug. 25 at the age of 68. He was educated in the Oglethorpe County School System, where he graduated in 1974.

Mary L. Huff, of Athens, died Aug. 22, 2024. The funeral service was at noon Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024 at Fork Bethel Baptist Church with Bishop Bobby Bloodsaw, eulogist and Elder Lindsey Gatlin, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Oakley German, a beloved and cherished baby girl, passed away on Aug. 30, 2024 at the age of 2. She brought joy and love to all who knew her during her short but impactful life.

Obituary: Katie Sue Fauber

Katie Sue Fauber, 84, of Comer, passed away on Aug. 26, 2024. Born on Nov. 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John “Sam” Colquitt and Nettie Inez Graham Colquitt. Sue was a longtime member of Colliers Batist Church in Comer.

Elizabeth Raye McCallister, 76, died Aug. 15, 2024. She was a former resident of Crawford. A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the Oglethorpe County Library. Libby was born on March 16, 1948, in High Point, North Carolina.

Obituary: Mary Ann Wheeler (Woods)

Mary Ann Wheeler (Woods), 79, passed away Aug. 17, 2024. She was born Jan. 11, 1945 in Athens and raised in Whitehall.  A master seamstress her whole life, she worked for Wilkens, Georgia Sportswear and George Gibson’s Menswear. She loved the Lord, her family and sewing.

Obituary: Dennis Norman Thomas

Dennis Norman Thomas, 79, of Comer, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born Oct. 25, 1944 in Elbert County, Dennis was the son of the late Golden Asbury Thomas and a very devoted son to the late Maggie Anderson Thomas.

Obituary: Theodrice Kelly

Theodrice Kelly, of Lexington, died Aug. 7, 2024. The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Fork Bethel Baptist Church.  Pastor Alexander Wymbs was the eulogist. Interment was in the church cemetery.
