Donna Catherine Cofer, 66, of Lexington, died on Feb. 18, 2024.   Born in Athens, Cofer was the daughter of Bertha Arthur Christy and the late Edgar Don Christy. She was the owner and operator of Lexington Cuts and graduated from Oglethorpe County High School.

Tony Lamar Bell, 67, of Comer, died on Thursday, Feb.15, 2024.   A lifelong resident of Oglethorpe County, Bell was the son of Sidney Ralph Bell and Shirley Booth Bell.    He worked mainly as a truck driver for Boswell Oil Company. He was a member of Collier Baptist Church.

It is with grace and gratitude that the children of Edna Stewart announce the passing of their mother on Jan. 23, 2024.    She was born in Oglethorpe County on July 20, 1935. She was the daughter of the late John Ralph and Katie Mae Carter Stewart.   Stewart had six brothers and sisters.

Robert L. Whitehead, 76, of Lexington, died Jan. 20, 2024.  Born on July 23, 1947, he was the son of the late Zenas Whitehead and Frances Loyd Whitehead. Whitehead loved to go fishing and spent his last working years working alongside friends at Athens Habitat ReStore.

Ray Nelson Calloway Sr.

Ray Nelson Calloway Sr. died the morning of Jan. 21, 2024, with his loving children at his side. Calloway was born in DeKalb County to the late Charlie Relisha Calloway and Nora Lee Calloway on September 17, 1938.
